India International Jewellery Week gets together some of the finest jewellery houses and brands from all over India to showcase their latest and best jewellery designs on one platform, supported by lavish designer outfits from many top designers. Having modeled personally for IIJW from its first year, we can vouch for the absolute ability of many of the designs to take one's breath away. With every passing year, the event has been getting grander with many Bollywood celebrities and bigger brands associating with it. This year was no different in terms of its grandiose effect on the audience and its reach to the masses. Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor who is also the brand ambassador of IIJW inaugurated the event in a backless emerald green gown by international fashion designer Michael Costello. The pretty and unassuming gown never let you guess what it had in store for you till Sonam turned her back to you!

Many of the top models of the industry like Candice Pinto, Deepti Gujral, Sucheta Sharma, Archana Akil Kumar and others were seen in various shows in many stunning pieces of jewellery.

Bollywood stars—or should we say, runway regulars (since they are seen more on the runway than in movies)—like Sophie Choudry, Kriti Sannon, Richa Chadda and Aditi Rao Hydari came as show stoppers for various shows. Two surprising faces seen on the runway were tennis ace Sania Mirza and Preity Zinta who had practically disappeared from the scene in the past few years.

Sonam Kapoor walked as the showstopper for the grand finale by Designers Shyamal and Bhumika in a pretty mauve lehenga giving a fitting finish to the event.

All in all, IIJW2015 was a well-coordinated, multi crore, fashion and jewellery event and a dream come true for all the would be brides looking for ideas to get their jewellery and trousseau together!
